YACHAD = TOGETHER
Yachad (the Hebrew word for together) is a collaborative program for teens in 9-12th grades from across Minneapolis. Yachad is the education program for all of our teens together. Eleven Minneapolis organizations collaborate together to provide one Jewish communal program for our teens. From more than ten local high schools, our teens come together weekly to eat, learn and socialize with other teens from across the metro area.
EXPERIENCE IT! Yachad uses on 21st C. educational practices to create meaningful and engaging learning opportunities for teens. Learning will be based on real world and hands-on experiences. Learning will focus on critical thinking skills and collaboration with others. The arts and technology will be integrated into most experiences.
Prep U (College Prep Program)
Prep U is a unique-to-Yachad program geared to prepare teens for college Jewish life. This program is an example of how Yachad staff listen and value feedback from families. With input from families, Yachad creates new ways to further engage Jewish teens.
There are three components to Yachad’s Prep U program.
College Credit Opportunities
The University of MN’s nationally accredited College in the Schools (CIS) program brings U of M faculty together with high school teachers and students to offer University courses in high school programs. Yachad will offer five levels of CIS Hebrew for college credit. Yachad also offer college credit courses through Gratz College in Philadelphia.
Yachad offers unique partnerships with both local and national organizations to offer dynamic and engaging opportunities for teens.
